Mississippi Swamp
We’ve officially made it to “I’ve sweat through my clothes and now I have to change on my lunch break” season. Mississippi humidity was something ELSE today, and from the looks of it, Birmingham’s heat wasn’t that much better either.
I had a pleasant day working in the office with my Laurel Mercantile teammates. We’re working on a few projects this week and I love collaborating with them. All the good, bad and ugly ideas are welcome in our discussions and I’m thankful for the space to create and bring things to fruition.
After work, Dad and I went to the gym and spent some quality time on the treadmill. We’re both trying to get our health back in order and work on good habits together, and it is really comforting having someone who will encourage you and vice versa.
We like to push one another, because we’re so similar in many ways. We have similar fears and anxieties, similar struggles and winsome personality traits. Even on our worst days, I love my dad so much it hurts. He’s my best friend, and I’m grateful for the bond that we’ve formed over the last few years.
While he may not understand my love for France or anything that I do for a living, he’s my biggest supporter and cheerleader. He’s also the highlight of my day.
While I do not have a photo of my dad from today, please enjoy this moment when my dad put his prescription glasses on Charlie.
