What I Watched, Wore, and Wanted Today

I finally finished the last season of You tonight. It’s wild to think I’ve been watching this show off and on for almost eight years. As someone who consumes way too much true crime, it’s been fascinating to watch the way the women in the show are drawn in—not just by Joe’s charm, but by the illusion of safety and romance he offers. He's obsessive, calculating, dangerous—but somehow still gets cast as the romantic lead in his own story. The finale was completely unhinged, in a way that felt... fitting.

After that chaos, I switched over to the Met Gala coverage and honestly? I haven’t enjoyed a theme this much in a while. Contemporary Black Dandyism—a nod to history, to rebellion through elegance, to fashion as language. I saw glimpses of that growing up in Mississippi. Not the designer looks, obviously, but that same intentionality. Men and women who dressed like they meant it. Doechii’s look was easily my favorite of the night.

The rest of the day was quiet. I went for a long walk and wore this ridiculously cool Free People jacket I got through Nuuly. I’ve never rented clothes before, but I decided to give it a shot—and somehow ended up ordering a full-on winter coat without realizing it. But honestly? No regrets. The patterns are serving, and I’m fully leaning into my green/gold and pink era. Let the maximalism begin.

Lately, I’ve been itching to go somewhere. I keep finding myself searching flights to Chicago, to New York… and then to London. Maybe it’s restlessness. Or maybe it’s just that early summer shift—where something in your brain starts to wake up again. I love the slowness of my current routine, but sometimes it feels like I’m just circling the same block. It’s like I’m craving a different pace without knowing what exactly I’m looking for.

Anyway. That’s where I’m at today: one foot in fictional chaos, one eye on a red carpet, and a brain wandering through my Delta app.
