Buy the Disposable Camera

After binging the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders last night until 2am, I spent the morning sleeping in peacefully. So much so that my back was aching. I think this means I’m old now?

I had quite a few errands to run and kept busy. One of the highlights of the day was picking up the developed pictures from my disposable camera from vacation. I forgot how exciting it is to be surprised by your pictures, to not be perfectly curated all of the time. It made me far more nostalgic than I’d like to admit.

Some may wonder why I go through all the trouble to take so many photos and share the monotonous moments of each day, but the truth is I just want to remember everything. I’m very afraid of forgetting. I want to remember how it feels to be 27, my mom and dad’s laugh on the beach, Michael’s grimace when the ocean splashed him far more than he expected.

I often think about the pictures that I’ll show my future children and how I’ll share these memories with them. I hope they cherish them like I do with my Mom and Dad.
